While responding to the incident the Speaker said, “There is some decorum of the house. He (Narendra Modi) was sitting in the prime minister’s seat. I did not like it..” “Such conduct is against the rules of the House,” she said.
Media and Hashtag
Sonia Gandhi responded to the media that she was “very happy” with son Rahul’s performance and she is the media is changing too. Congress leaders like Shashi Tharoor used the hashtag #BhukampAaGaya (has earthquake come?)
Lawmakers across the house cheered and thumped their desks wildly. Opposition members gave Rahul Gandhi a standing ovation. On the other hand, minister Harsimrat Kaur of the Akali Dal said, “This is a house, not for Munnabhai’s pappi jhappi.” (He compared the scenario with the Hindi movie Munnabhai which is Vasool Raja in Tamil where Kamal Hasan does ‘kattipudi vaithiyam’)
