R.K. Nagar Election Result: T.T.V. Dinakaran Comfortably Leads

R.K.Nagar election results are getting out and the individual contestant T.T.V. Dinakaran is in a comfortable lead. As the counting started, since the first round of votes count in the morning T.T.V.Dinakaran was leading the race. This by-election was seen as a race to prove the legacy of the AIADMK’s party after the death of former Tamilnadu chief minister J.Jayalalitha. R.K.Nagar was Jayalalitha’s constituency where she was the MLA.

This is the second time R.K.Nagar constituency is facing election scenario in the same year. After the demise of J.Jayalalitha, a by-election was announced that was must have held in the month of March 2017. However, due to reasons of huge amount of money being given out to the voters, Election Commission has cancelled the election. By-election was re-announced and polling was recorded on December 21.

T.T.V.Dinakaran in R.K.Nagar

Today, since the counting of votes started T.T.V. Dinakaran is leading. This election was seen as a tug of war between T.T.V.Dinakaran and EPS-OPS alliance (Edappadi K. Palanisamy, present Chief Minister of the state and O. Pannerselvam, Deputy CM). The party symbol of AIADMK party, “twin-leaves” was under dispute as the election commission withdrew it. Finally, it was EPS-OPS alliance got the party symbol.

In between the vote counting process, as Dinakaran was leading in numbers, AIADMK partymen entered the counting campus and ransacked chairs and two voting machines.

According to the initial reports of the R.K.Nagar election results:

  • Leading in the first position T.T.V. Dinakaran – Individual Contestant
  • Second Madhusudhanan – AIADMK
  • Third Marudhu Ganesh – DMK
  • Fourth Kalaikottudhayam – NTK
  • Fifth Karu Nagarajan – BJP

As of now the counting process is kept on hold as the situation remains uncontrollable due the fight between EPS-OPS supporters and Dinakaran supporters.

It is expected that the count will resume soon after the situation comes under control. According the first rounds of vote counting, it could be seen that Dinakaran will win the by-election to become the MLA of R.K.Nagar constituency.
